Repetition Is The Mother of All Learning

Do it again. Do it again. Do it again! How many of us are already finding this “do it again” thing repetitive and boring? Probably most of us, right? Well, guess what? Most of us, if we are really honest with ourselves, will admit that we are also not yet where we would like to be in life either. So, can we all see the common denominator here? Most of us find repetition to be really boring, and yet most of us are not satisfied with our progress in life at this time.

It has been said that we all need to hear something 150 times before we really get it. I wonder how many of us could endure being told something 150 times and not lose our patience with the person who keeps telling us the same thing over and over again. How many of us could endure being told even 100 times? How about 50? How many of us have the patience and wisdom to not roll our eyes after being told the same thing just 3 or 4 times by the same person? I imagine most of us would lose our patience with someone telling us the same thing after just a few times, right? And once again, I imagine most of us are not where we really want to be in life either, correct?

Does Lebron James find shooting free throws, boring and repetitive? I bet you that he doesn’t! I can also bet you that he has done it more than 150 times. I also imagine that he has heard the same comments from his coach way more than 150 times. It is probably safe to say that all the greats like Lebron James understand that repetition is the way we all learn.

Teens, put on your listening caps and do it again. Now go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Remember that repetition is the Mother of all learning. And once again, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you will do…
