Who Can Wear A Cocktail Ring?
I have had many inquiries from readers about who can wear a cocktail ring. The simple answer to that is anyone who wants to make a bold statement and display their good taste can wear, and even rock, a cocktail ring!
If you look at recent history, you will see that women from all walks of life wear the showy statement rings. Open any magazine and you will likely see some starlet or politician sporting a giant rock on their hand. I have seen many kinds of cocktail rings on the hands of famous people, including gemstone, enamel and even pearl!
Now you might be saying to yourself “Sure, they’re rich and famous. Of course they can wear those big, expensive rings. I don’t have that kind of money and besides that I’m just an ordinary person.” Stop right there! People talk about being ordinary like it’s a bad thing. I don’t think it is bad at all. Someone has to be ordinary to give others a standard against which they can be extraordinary. And if you take it apart, extraordinary is extra ordinary. That just means they have even more ordinariness than the rest of us!
As far as price is concerned, you can spend fifty dollars on up to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on your budget. A 3 carat replica of a famous British socialite’s ring is $10,000.00. But there is also a much less expensive one that is made using lab created stones, cubic zirconia and gold plating. No one knows it’s a cheaper ring unless you tell them.
There is so much variety these days in cocktail rings that there is sure to be one that is just what you’ve been needing! There are flowers, animals, single stone, multi stone, gemstone, pearl. The list goes on and on. I have found enamel to be a refreshing change from the typical gemstone and diamond rings that were de rigueur for so long. The colors are vibrant and the modern enameling process ensures that the colors will never fade. And with the new rhodium plating, your ring can keep its’ luster for a long time. No matter what your favorite color is or what color your outfit is, there is a cocktail ring to match!
It used to be that you couldn’t wear a cocktail ring unless you were dressed in the latest haute couture gown for a cocktail party but that, thankfully, is no longer the case. Women are sporting cocktail rings with everything from swim suits to jeans! And since the cost is not prohibitive anymore, a woman can own several cocktail rings to match her mood and her outfits. This is essential for me, personally, as my mood has always determined my outfit and accessories. I have seen women wearing 2 or 3 cocktail rings at a time, each one complimenting the others.
Wearing a cocktail ring is a bold statement. It says that the wearer is confident and has good taste. Who wouldn’t want to be seen as confident? It’s a tough job market today and you need every advantage in order to rise to the top. Being seen as confident can boost your self-esteem and give you the edge you need to surpass your co-workers and get that promotion you’ve been working toward. And as for good taste, if you are looking to wear a cocktail ring, you already have good taste!
